Traditional Distribution Research
Entertainment magazines have several ways of distribution that work effectively. Amazon is a way to get their magazine out to people when people do not want to buy a physical subscription. Entertainment Weekly uses this distribution method. It allows readers to buy the subscription for their e-reader or kindle. This is a more modern way of distributing media because many people do not buy physical copies of magazines anymore.
Another option would be to put out copies in bookstores and grocery stores so the customer is getting exposed to the magazine head on. They can flip through to see if they are interested enough to buy it. This can be effective if wanting to sell a specific issue of a magazine, but not if the company wants consistent reading of all their issues. It can interest people but maybe not enough to have them come back to the store and buy the next issue coming out.
Traditional magazine distribution would be the physical subscription through the mail. Many times ads will come through the mail and provide the option to subscribe to their magazine. When signed up, the reader will get mailed the magazine every month for however long they want. This is the easiest option for people who want the magazine as soon as possible. It comes to them straight in the mail when it is ready. I plan to use this method because it is the most effective and gives readers the satisfaction of receiving the magazine fast.
